Day by Day

Day 1Arrive to Mavicure

Our team will eagerly await your arrival at Inírida airport to kick off your adventure. First, we’ll take you to the Paujil Indigenous Reserve, where you’ll enjoy a delicious lunch featuring local cuisine. Then, we’ll board a boat and head to the majestic Mavicure Hills, home to the Puinave indigenous people living in Remanso.

Here, you’ll take a short tour to get to know the community, their customs, and way of life. In the evening, savor a traditional Puinave dinner, immersing yourself in their rich history and traditions. At the end of the day, you’ll have the unique experience of sleeping in an authentic Puinave house. This first day sets the stage for an incredible journey of cultural immersion and adventure, promising an unforgettable start to your exploration of Colombia’s hidden treasures.

Day 2Explore the Mavicure

Early in the morning, we’ll enjoy a hearty breakfast before embarking on a hike up the Mavicure Hills to witness the magical sunrise. You’ll marvel at the spectacular jungle landscapes and hear the sacred tales of Princess Inirida from a local Puinave guide. After descending by midday, savor a traditional Puinave lunch showcasing authentic gastronomy. Next, cool off in the red and mysterious waters of Caño de San Joaquín, followed by a two-hour journey to visit the Venado community. As evening falls, we’ll return to Remanso for another night’s stay.

Day 3Arrival to Orinoco River Lodge

Embark on an exhilarating journey on Day 3 as we start with an early breakfast. We’ll navigate the Inirida River, embarking on a 222-kilometer expedition. Along the way, we’ll explore the Inirida Fluvial Star, designated as a Ramsar Site, where you’ll witness the convergence of five rivers with distinct colors—an enchanting natural phenomenon. Our journey includes visits to communities like La Ceiba, showcasing sustainable tourism models. Finally, we’ll arrive at Orinoco River Lodge, nestled in a 14,000-hectare natural reserve. You’ll be greeted with a delightful lunch featuring local cuisine, unwind in the evening with a brief ecological tour of the reserve, and conclude the night with a special dinner where we share the stories and significance of the reserve.

Day 4Explore the Reserve

Awake to the sounds of the jungle and enjoy a hearty breakfast. In the morning, explore the rapids of the Orinoco River, the gateway to El Tuparro National Park. Return to the lodge for a delicious lunch with a view of the Orinoco River. In the afternoon, we recommend activities focused on rest and relaxation within the reserve. As the day ends, experience the breathtaking sunset from one of the reserve’s most stunning spots. In the evening, delight in a culinary experience featuring regional flavors.

Day 5Return to Inirida

Early in the morning, you will enjoy breakfast at our lodge. Then, embark on a 150 km journey up the Orinoco River, arriving in Inírida after approximately 3.5 hours. Depending on the day and airline availability, you may fly back to Bogotá in the afternoon. If flights are not available, our team has arranged visits to the indigenous community of El Coco. Here, you can see ancient rock petroglyphs and witness the confluence of the dark waters of the Inírida River with the clear waters of the Guaviare River at the birthplace of the Estrella Fluvial de Inírida. You will stay overnight in a hotel in Inírida, preparing for your flight back to Bogotá the following morning.

What are the payment policies?

Clients can reserve with a 40% deposit and have until 20 days before the travel date to complete the total balance. If flights are included in the package, the client must pay 100% of the flight cost at the time of booking. If the booking is made within 18 days of the travel date, full payment is required.
