Day 1Transfers & Arrival

Begin your journey with a scenic 45-minute flight from Medellín to Bahía Solano, where our dedicated staff will warmly welcome you upon arrival at Bahia Solano airport. From there, you’ll embark on a three-hour boat journey aboard one of Darien Lodge’s comfortable vessels, cruising along the open sea. During this voyage, you’ll have the opportunity to engage in deep-sea fishing, observing species like the Brown Booby whose behavior guides local fishermen.

As we sail past Cabo Marzo, an awe-inspiring coastal landmark adorned with dramatic rock formations, you’ll encounter a diverse array of seabirds including the Blue-footed Booby, Brown Pelican, Gull-billed Tern, and Pomarine Jaeger. Upon arrival at our esteemed and luxurious eco-lodge, our attentive team will greet you with a refreshing appetizer, provide a comprehensive safety briefing, and deliver detailed instructions for the upcoming expedition.

Day 2Birding in Punta Ardita

Early morning marks the beginning of an unforgettable day as we embark on a 6-hour trek through Punta Ardita, immersing ourselves in the vibrant world of avian diversity. Traverse the mangrove ecosystems and witness a myriad of bird species, including the Spotted Sandpiper, Northern-barred Woodcreeper, Pacific Antwren, Great-tailed Grackle, Northern Waterthrush, and Bananaquit.

Our expert guide will select the perfect spot amidst the jungle for a delightful lunch, surrounded by the serene beauty of exotic bird species such as the Plumbeous Kite, Keel-billed Toucan, Red-lored Parrot, Double-toothed Kite, Brown Wood-Rail, and Chestnut-headed Oropendola. Day 3Birding in Punta Ardita

Today, we venture into the diverse landscapes of Punta Ardita, following a scenic path that ascends to the hillside lighthouse antenna. Along the way, immerse yourself in the rich biodiversity of the region, encountering species such as the Chocó Tinamou, Gray-headed Chachalaca, Crimson-bellied Woodpecker, Blue Cotinga, and Slate-throated Gnatcatcher.

In the afternoon, indulge in leisure options at the hotel, including relaxing spa sessions with breathtaking views from the pool or bar. Alternatively, choose from a variety of optional activities available for an additional charge. Day 4Transfer from Punta Ardita to Bahía Solano

What are the payment policies?

Clients can reserve with a 50% deposit and have until 30 days before the travel date to complete the total balance. If flights are included in the package, the client must pay 100% of the flight cost at the time of booking. If the booking is made within 18 days of the travel date, full payment is required.
