Hato Natural Reserve is extremely exclusive, accessible only during the dry season (November to late March) via a 4-hour road trip, with 2 hours on paved roads and 2 hours on unpaved savannas. During the rainy season, access is limited to a 40-minute flight from Yopal to the lodge’s private airstrip. For the more adventurous, there’s an option of a challenging journey involving a 2-hour drive from Yopal followed by a 4-hour horseback ride across the vast savanna, crossing six rivers. Although this journey is demanding, the overall experience includes all the comforts of the lodge, ensuring an incredibly rewarding adventure.
